Along this
week I have learned about different methodologies to teach language, all of
them have pros and cons, but nowadays the best is to take what better fits to
our class profiles , our students. I realized that there´s a plenty of methodologies and there´s no recipe
to have success in our classes.
However teachers have an important tool that will help us do our work much better and it is planning. It was confusing for me when it was suggested to start planning from the end in mind but then I made some reflections about it and I saw that if I do planning in thay way, might be easier to set my objectives clearly because I will keep in mind all the time what do I want to achieve.
I found very useful SMART objectives, I had never heard about it before and I absolutely agree. Objectives must be specific, my objetives sometimes are so general and then I get lost with the activities and purposes. Measurable, in that way my students and me will realize weaknesses and strenghts. Achievable, that´s a good point, when I set objetives I´m selfish because I think on what I expect from my students and I dream so high, I really need to consider my students´ age, abilities, likes, etc. Relevant not for my authorities, it must be relevant for my students and Timely.
I usually get lost at some point when I am trying to set my objectives but if I include all those elements in my objectives I think I will get much better results. It was a good practice to rewrite the objective in the Bloom´s worksheet to go from one level to a higher, I know now that it doesn´t mind my students´ age or English level because they are able to remember, understand, apply, analyze, and reach the more complex levels which are evaluate and create, but I need to be careful while creating objectives to make them effective. I have learnt in a few days so much!

I am so glad that you have learned so much that you feel like you can really grasp and apply. Of course you need to make the objectives achievable, but do not lower your expectations! High expectations are important in their overall learning, but make sure that what you say they are going to learn in one lesson can actually happen indeed!
